How Our Unsearched Wheat Cents Work

At Pawn Pro in Syracuse, New York, we purchase coins from the public every day. Wheat cents arrive in jars, coffee cans, coin albums, rolls, estate collections, and inherited collections.

Every wheat cent we receive is placed into one large collection bin. Customers are not permitted to search through these coins in our store. When enough coins accumulate, they are poured directly into our coin-counting machine and packaged into bags of approximately 200 coins.

These coins have come from more than 100 different collections purchased over the past year.

We guarantee that these wheat cents have not been searched by Pawn Pro employees or its owners. We created this program to give collectors a genuine opportunity to search original accumulations themselves.

What to Expect

Because of the bagging process:

• Your bag may contain one or two coins more or less than 200.

• Occasionally, a modern Lincoln cent dated after 1958 may be included.

• You may also find an Indian Head Cent or a 1943 Steel Cent mixed into your bag.

While we believe these bags offer tremendous value and a fun treasure-hunting experience, no specific dates, mint marks, grades, or key dates are guaranteed.
