Full Time Pawnbroker/ Sales Associate

Pawn Pro is hiring for a full-time pawnbroker/appraiser position. Appraisers have first access to the products coming through the door and are empowered to make buying decisions on their own. We are looking for someone with this type of experience who is ready to “wheel and deal”. We are flexible and willing to work with the right candidate who is ready to learn and become a master.

We are a family business, with two locations in Syracuse and Oneida! We are looking to expand our group of experts. Job Summary:

As a Pawn Broker you are the face of Pawn Pro. You handle most of the customer interactions and run the sales floor. Appraisers wear many hats that include both buying and selling retail items. You must be able to multi-task and self-manage yourself to accomplish any and all tasks at hand. We will provide you with the necessary training for our software programs.

Everyday Duties:

  • Complete opening and closing procedures for the day
  • General customer service, help guests navigate the store and answer questions
  • Answering phones, emails, and text messages
  • Purchasing Retail Items (further outlined below)
  • Negotiating prices and selling items in the shop
  • Custodial duties and store clean up
  • Odd jobs that need to be accomplished

Purchasing Duties:

  • Conduct research to arrive at a current market price of the retail goods, which includes but is not limited to:
    • researching current market trends
    • comparing prices of competitors or other retailers
    • searching on ecommerce sites such as eBay or Amazon
    • contacting other team members
    • using provided materials in the shop
  • Using your research to arrive at a proper offer amount
  • Negotiating a purchase price with the customer
  • Document, in full, the transaction in Bravo

Part/Full Time Cashier

Job Overview:

The cashier role is responsible for completing all transactions within the POS and other necessary software. This includes selling items to customers, purchasing items from customers, and writing up buyback layaways. The cashier works closely with the pawnbroker/appraiser to properly serve the customer and accomplish tasks at hand.

Job Requirements:

  • You must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
  • Stay on your feet for most of your shift
  • See well on monitors and phones
  • You should be able to manage your time to perform all tasks asked of you each day
  • You must be able to perform basic cleaning tasks such as vacuuming and cleaning floors, counters, and windows.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures throughout the day.

Duties:

As a cashier, you are responsible for obtaining and recording the proper information for all transactions including sales, purchases, and layaways. The cashier plays a support role to assist Pawnbrokers, Managers, and other coworkers with day-to-day tasks.

Product Processor

Job Overview:

As a Product Processor you will receive items for processing, cleaning, and refurbishing. The Product Processor is also responsible for cleaning the store. You will be asked to do a variety of tasks throughout the day.

As a product processor, your main duties are processing, refurbishing, and cleaning items. You are also responsible for any organizational, janitorial, or maintenance needs of the store. The Product Processor is a key component to our day-to-day operations and helps us represent the Pawn Pro Name.
